Abstract
|
|
|
This study was carrird out on environmental poIllution in certain area caused by toxicorganochlorine pesticides from May 1st to the end of July of 1972.
The samples were colleced from soil, water, air and fish around Cheonju and Suwon area. The specimens subjedted in this study were the residual organochlorine pesticides; r-BHC, Heptachlor, Aldrin, Heptachlor-epoxide, Eldrin, Dieldrin and DDT, which could be detected by Gas Chromatogram., The Hitach Model 063 Gas Chromatograph was used fol the detection.
The obtained results are as follows;
1. r-BHC was detected among all of fish, almost of soil and water and little of air in the two areas.
2. The range of r-BHC was from 0 to 14.5 ppb.
3. Heptachlor was detected in the two areas and it´s range was from 0 to 14.0 ppb.
4. The ranges of the detected Heptachlor, Heptachlor-epoxide, Aldrin and DDT were each 0-14.0, 0-12.5, 0-18.0 and 0-56.0 ppb, and almost none of them was deteced in air.
5. The range of Eldrin was from 0 to 8.0 ppb., however, the level of pollution showed very rarely.
6. The degree of Pollution by organochlorine pesticides was in order of r-BHC, Hepta-chlor, Aldrin, Heptachlor-epoxide and Elarin, and it showed the same feature In Cheonju and Wuwon area.
7. It is recommended that the advanced studies on these pollution problems by toxic residual pesticides should be carried out and the using standard and environmental standard should be established for the purpose of pollution control.
